Basic Mermaid

The PADI Basic Mermaid course combines learning essential knowledge and principles with a hands-on skill development session. You'll dive into the background and culture of mermaiding, safety considerations, equipment basics, and essential water skills. It's all about having fun while mastering the fundamentals of mermaid diving.
PADI Mermaid Course
Take your mermaiding skills to the next level! The PADI Mermaid course deepens your understanding of the underwater world and how it affects you as a mermaid. You'll learn additional routine, exhibition, and problem-handling skills through knowledge development and at least two water skill sessions. This course goes beyond Basic Mermaid, introducing dynamic mermaid skills that turn mermaiding into an expressive underwater art form. (No need to take Basic Mermaid separately—you can start directly with the PADI Mermaid course!)
PADI Advanced Mermaid Course
Elevate your mermaiding experience by diving into open water! In the PADI Advanced Mermaid course, you'll build on your PADI Mermaid certification and apply your skills to the open water environment. Learn how open water conditions differ from a pool (larger, deeper, more variable) and get introduced to open water mermaiding techniques. You'll also discover what to expect from aquatic life, how it can affect you, and how to stay safe while exploring the ocean's depths.

This course is open to aspiring mermaids who meet the following criteria:
- Age: Must be at least 12 years old.
- Swimming Ability: Must know how to float and swim.
- Health: Must be able to answer "NO" to all questions on the standard Medical History Form or obtain a physician’s approval prior to the start of class.

The course fee covers:
- Educational Materials: Access to the online class.
- All Instruction: Professional guidance throughout the course.
- Mermaid Equipment: Use of mermaid tail, mono fin, weight belt, and weights.
- Pool Session: Practice your skills in a controlled environment.
For the Advanced Mermaid Course, the fee also includes:
- Two Open Water Sessions: Enjoy two sessions from a boat on the same day.
Please note that students are responsible for providing the following:
- Equipment Items: As listed in the course requirements.
- Transportation: To and from all dive/training sites.
- Food and Drinks: To keep you fueled and hydrated during your sessions.
